Triple Play Service

Satlynx Maritime provides a sophisticated satellite platform for delivering an innovative triple-play service. The solution provides telephone, Internet access and a range of TV content including daily news, sports reports and magazine shows that can be multiplexed into any cabin, technical or recreation rooms on-board any commercial shipping vessel.

Triple Play Features

Satlynx Maritime is characterized by a least-cost routing system and an Automatic Beam Switching (ABS) feature. The triple-play IP service, comprising three optional satellite platforms:

  • Ku-band VSAT extensive coverage
  • Inmarsat
  • Iridium

The least-cost routing system utilises the Ku-band VSAT as the least expensive satellite path, and switches to Inmarsat and Iridium services according to availability.

This ensures that communication with each vessel is maintained whilst travelling between Ku-band beams through automatic beam switching and re-routing via Inmarsat or Iridium when outside a Ku-band beam.
